What is a Notice of Assessment?

A Notice of Assesment or NOA is a statement from the Canada Revenue Agency notifying the taxpayer of the amount of tax they owe, if any, the amount of tax already paid, if any, and any tax credits received.

An NOA is typically received within 3 weeks of filing and is sent to the specified address when your corporate taxes are filed. An example of what your NOA looks like can be found below.

If you can't find the physical copy of your Notice of Assessment you have two options:

  1. Request that a new NOA is sent to you directly (can take up to 10 days or more)

  2. Retrieve your NOA online

Further information about the options provided by CRA can be found on the CRA website here.
